Jack M. Reda, CPA was certified to practice public accounting in Kansas since 1976.
After receiving a BSBA in Accounting from Pittsburg State University in 1972, Jack
joined the accounting firm of Arthur Anderson & Co and practiced as a tax accountant
until 1977. During the period from 1972 to 1987, he specialized in assisting his
clients in the design of complex capital transactions, primarily from a tax perspective.
In 1987, Jack was named Director of Corporate Finance at Stern Brothers & Co.,
a Kansas City based investment banking firm closely affiliated with L.F. Rothschild
& Co, a New York investment banking firm. In 1989, he along with the President
of Stern Brothers, purchased the Corporate Finance and the Municipal Bond Divisions
of Stern Brothers and founded a new Investment Banking firm.
In 1989, Jack co-founded Investment Bankers of Kansas City ("IBKC") and became its
Chairman and Co-CEO. In 1992 IBKC was sold to Mark Twain Bancshares, Inc. in St.
Louis, MO. During his tenure at IBKC, he again originated and collaborated on multiple
private capital and debt transactions ranging in size from $5MM to $105MM.
Since 1992, Jack has dedicated the vast majority of his professional time working
with entrepreneurial businesses assisting companies, ranging in size from $3MM to
$1B in value, to plan, negotiate and execute capital transactions.
His experience with how to market, determine value, process, investigate and negotiate
a transaction, assists his clients with financing, buying and selling businesses,
especially in the $5MM to $75MM range. Mr. Reda has authored manuals and conducted
entrepreneurial seminars on such topics as "Positioning Your Business for Acquisition",
"How to Build a Credible Strategic Business and Financing Plan" and "How to Buy
a Business".
