Reuse

The use of a product, or of its components, in its original form more than once reduces the waste stream. Reuse can also mean redistributing materials from one who no longer needs it to one who can still find use in them.

Between two and five percent of the waste stream is potentially reusable according to local studies in Berkeley, California, and Leverett, Massachusetts.1

GreenNurture's eco-articles will educate participants and help to stir up ideas on how they can reuse items so that they don't end up in our landfills. Ideas such as:

  • Taking inventory and redistributing items within
    your organization as necessary
  • Donating surplus or unused items to schools,
    charitable organizations
  • Holding food/clothing drives periodically to
    collect gently used items
  • Allowing virtual postings or physical employee
swaps for personal items available for sale
    or giveaway.

GreenNurture empowers you to find ways reuse items and to "start the conversation" with others within your organization.
